So I tried to do the disc brake swap on my dually Dana 70HD using the dually brackets from ruff stuff and use 14 bolt hubs but it is off by at least 2". Can you only use the brackets and swap with stock dually hubs?

Can I just use a spacer and space the bracket and still run the 14 bolt hubs? I thought I read everything and this was a direct bolt on but it does not fit up?

HELP! I tried to find a newb section but I cic not see one. sorry if it has already been answered.

I dont think there are any bolt on brackets for the 70hd when using 14b hubs. Only weld on. The only bolt ons are when using 70 hubs.

Just throwing this out there. I have no knowledge of the D70's but if you have the offset brackets (like what DIY sells) are they on the proper way? That being the bent ears facing the rotors?

The D70HD brackets from RuffStuff are designed for using the D70 hubs. You either need a spacer or weld-on for D70 w/ 14b hubs. Although I would be concerned about the distance between the mounting location and the brake discs with a spacer, if you figure on the bracket offset and the spacer it will put a lot of extra torque/stress on the bracket bolts.

i guess my question is, 2in in which direction????

If there are 2 fewer inches than you need, (unlikely) im not sure what youd do.

If there are 2 more inches than you need, try mounting the rotor to the backside of the hub flange, instead of slipping it on from the outside.... im not sure, but that may make up the difference. thats the route im taking with my D70HD, but im using different brakes, and having adaptors custom made for the application.
