I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately, best $25.00 i've spent lately. In all my research, I haven't found much info regarding the Dana 70 HD rear axle in my new tow rig.

The question is, can the dually Dana 70 HD be converted from a dually hub assembly? And, if it can be done, can it be done effectively without the costs getting out of hand? Or should I sell it and find a 4.10 1-ton Corporate 14-bolt???

its wider than a srw axle even in srw converted form.

some swap on srw hubs from 14ff direct swap. then get a disk brake kit that works with this conversion. reason is to run stock 7" backspace h1 rims . also leave the front as drw to run the 7" backspace h1 rims. this keeps them all in like basicly perfect.

if you do want some swap on srw hubs and drums. then weld on new flanges to bolt the backing plates in the correct spot. as drw the flange/mount in inbord 4" i think each side.

if you want srw and basicly factory look get a srw 14ff from a 1ton. will bolt in.

but then if converting to srw then you are still left with the drw flares on the sides. but that lets you have a cool lookin single wheel fat tire under the fender look.

Okay, Thank you sir! We should just be friends because you keep answering all my questions! Did you see my broken 80 adapter in the transmission thread? :( Makes me sad and mad all at the same time!
