Dana 80 prices...

Ouch 5 grand for an axle? and it's not even painted. 14FF goes for 150 bucks around here and if your breaking those, rockwells have got to be cheaper than that.
 
$1000-1500 tops for a good complete newer one around here. You want one from between '01.5 and '03 you get the disk brakes and in Hat e-brake.

I'm not going that direction... I just ran across it on the local CL and was a little :eek1:
 
Nobody that knows where to find these axles would pay anywhere near that for them, we all know that.

Shops look for them to replace axles that have been destroyed by customers, add their markup and install them. Most people have no idea and pay whatever it costs to get their vehicle back on the road.

You might be surprised at the replacement cost for stuff (even if its used). That is, if you don't do it yourself ;)
 
Dana 80's are not that rare, and almost nobody runs them, the market is just not there. There was one in the yard locally, I could have bought for 100 bucks but I didn't need it, and no market to resell it, unfortunatly it went to scrap.

for sure. thats wrecker inflated prices. I got the D80 in my one truck and I got another D80 free, that I robbed the disks, hubs and goodies out of.
 
I bet you could call Dynatrac and have them build you a brand new D80 for $5000. That dude is on crack. If Dana 80's were worth even a faction of that I would have my spare D80 on craigslist in about 4.5 seconds. Hell I would pull the D80 out of my Dodge pickup and replace it with a 14bff and sell that D80 too.

2001-2002 I worked in a Chevy dealership's parts department. You'd be surprised what they charged THEN for a bare 10 bolt housing.

Still, homie's on something good to think that sounds realistic.
 
I've got one I'd sell for $450. They bring $2200 for one at a yard for one :rolleyes: :mad:. I was hunting a SRW with disc's for my buddy and I about had a fit.
