I need to get the draglink on my dodge leveled out.
(I've got 4" of lift, but no steering corrections.)

I was thinking about a raised steering arm, but I can't seem to find any for a dana60...
Only thing I've seen to raise the arm are these kind of blocks:

But they doesn't feel right somehow...
Or are they ok on a street-driven truck with 33" tires?

I've also been thinking about changing the pitman arm, sector shaft, and steering arm to Chevy-style, so I can use an adjustable draglink from a Chevy,
since I have all those parts left from the crossover conversion i did on the K30.

(dodge uses a fixed-length draglink with angles at the ends)

Skyjacker and Superlift does make adjustable draglinks for dodge, but they cost in between $215-$245 :eek1:
And I don't know if I can buy individual draglink ends when they wear out..

Any suggestions?
And no, I'm not interested in doing a crossover on this truck.

Dont get a steering block. Too much force on the studs and they WILL break. It has happend to me before I went crossover. It has happend to a couple other members as well. They are unsafe.

i just ordered a raised steering block for my push pull set up, prolly not even as neer as hardcore wheeler as CHADDY, but im bankin on the fact that i will be good:crazy: try JACKIT for steering

Mine broke while turning out of a driveway on the road. This was when it was my DD.

I have a 2 1/4" block on mine and I have had no issues. I do daily driving, trail riding and interstate use. I think the key to it is to not go over about a 2 inch block and make sure you use good studs, put them in with locktight and make sure they are still tight....retorque them after the first couple of trips. It will also make a big difference if your drag link is level after you install your block.

Ive been runnin' a block in mine for 10+ years D/D with cross over steering and never have had an issue. I ran 33" tires then 35" then 37". Street drivin' , sand driven hardcore catching air even. Never been in the rocks though. I used ARP studs though.

one has been on my '85 sice i bought it like 3 years ago. hasn't been a problem. i will be converting to x-over this year.

Thanks for the input guys!

I think I'll play safe and skip the block, I've also realized that a dropped pitman arm would be cheaper.
So I see no reason to use the block, unless I would need both block and pitman arm to get the draglink horizontal.

Off Road Unlimited offer raised steering arms for both crossover and push/pull types on D60's.

You could also get a drop draglink with adjustable ends, I think superlift makes one. I have one, used it before going x-over, let me round up a part #...............

Stock push/pull type dropped draglinks are way worse than raised steering blocks for the same type of steering.

Trust me, I know. The TRE's wear out too fast and cost around $60 apiece from Superlift. These drag links are one of the worst designed parts you could ever install on a lifted rig.

found it, superlift part # 3040. 4 inch drop correction drag link.

Im running on of these right now on my 8" kit and it couldnt work any better. I have a 2" drop pitman arm, 4" drop drag link, and a 2 1/4" block under the steering arm on my 60. Everything sits dead level and drives like stock did.

I've had a block (as pictured in post #1) for 15yrs and no problems. Several of my friends have them also and no issues. We do mostly mud and snow, no super flexy rock crawling. Suspensions are basic 4" front springs like Rough Country, Tuff Country, etc.. You should be ok.
Oh yeah, the four trucks with D60 blocks are two on 36" and two on 39.5" tires. It's old school steering but these builds were done in the late 1980's and that's what it was in those days. No one has broken anything steering related.

Are you sure, I can only find the ones for crossover:

Thanks, but I think it'll be enough with a pitman arm, and maybe a steering arm block.
Besides these draglink don't have any effect on bump-steer.
They only decrease the angles on the DLE's

I'm considering building my own spacer block.
That way I can get one with just a 1.5" lift.
But I don't know where to get the four studs for it?
I would need a 4-5" long 1/2"UNF grade 8 studs, and that isn't so easy to find in Sweden...
Where would you buy that?
(Preferebly a web-shop)

In worst case I guess I could turn down and re-thread an 12.9 M16 bolt, but it would be a lot of work

Thanks, but the only 1/2" grade 8 I can find there are UNC (13TPI).

They have 1/2" UNF(20TPI), but those are grade B8 or B8M.
And thats much weaker, right?
