well I got a compressor, rebuilt it, got a bracket from taz, got some expensive crap from kilby, put it all together today and have some issues to iron out. Of course it couldn't work right the first time.

First off it wont shut off. guessing the pressure switch isn't working. Thats ok. built up past 160psi and almost pegged the gage.

When I rebuilt the compressor I also did the oil fix Ive heard mix reviews on. I tapped and plugged the little hole and put it all back together. Well I heard the downfall of this is the crankcase isn't vented after plugging the hole. So i thought I got smart and when I did a oil return line from the filter I put a tee after the valve with a stone type breather. Thinking this would vent the case problem solved. Well when I run the compressor oil pukes out of my breather pretty good. So I think I have a couple options. Plug the vent, rethink the vent, or take the compressor apart and unplug the hole. Anyone got any ideas on this?

When I did mine, I never plugged that hole and I have never had any issues with mine at all.

x2, even though I dont have an oba system yet, its better just to leave the compressor the way it is suppose to be from the factory. I would unplug that vent in the york and plug that inline vent. The system you have setup is similar to late model gm cooling where it is a completely enclosed system, except where your vent is located gm placed a small sealed tank. In the tank gm filled half way with coolant so when an air pocket travelled through the system, it would vent out and be filled in with coolant. Now you could follow this logic for your vent, but the easiest way to fix the problem would be to unplug the stock york vent and plug up that inline vent.

I did the plug fix to get rid of the oil puking into my lines....have a filter too. It works great, but I have never vented the system. I check the oil level frequently w/ use and haven't had a problem. I've run this for 5 years with frequent use w/out issue.

hmm... Well maybe i will try running it plugged without the breather to see what happens. I would take it back apart but you know lazy seems to win alot for me. If it doesnt work then I will have to take it apart and put it back to stock. thanks for the input. and the bengals sticker stays. :D

ok, I took out the breather and put it all back. Got the pressure switch working too. Seems ok. Running the hose full throttle it will drop to about 40psi and maintain that. Thats pretty good I think. Hope it lasts and that the breather thing doesnt come back to haunt me when I need it most. thanks for the help

Nice setup. Would you mind taking a close up pic of your air manifold? Thanks

Thanks. I have a york in my garage and just wanted to get ideas when the time comes to install mine.

I'm wondering if you moved the vent up higher than the pump, you might solve the oil problem?
I plugged mine too....No problems yet. Probably only have an hour or two run time on it though.

yea i thought of that too but when it was on it was coming out pretty good. then when i went to discharge the oil back it also came out. I thought of a second valve to flip back and forth when draining the filter might work and coiling the hose and putting it higher might work too. but if all of you are running fine with the hole plugged who knows. Ill revisit the problem if it comes up again.
