Dare I say it...Another 72 K5 build! The Bubba build - getting back into it

Looks like the A pillar goes straight through the floor with a coupler?

Yah the A and B are welded to the slider. A has tube straight down, B has the plate top and bottom with a tube welded to the slider. Wheelwell brace is only to the body, C is plates and then braced to the frame. Pictures soon trying to get a couple things done

Sean will have to post frame tie in pics, my head made it hard to bend down the last couple days.

But here are a couole

Hey fellas. Been busy as hell and haven't done hardly anything on the rig since Eric and Keith left. It's fully welded, but was waiting on my seats to get here to finish the under floor stuff, seat mounts, harness bars and I'm going to at least plan where the engine cage will meet the interior cage at the firewall now. I've been swapping VW engines, replacing head gaskets on Tacomas and going to school, so time has been a bit short. The damn rain has been pretty relentless lately too.

Found out the other day that Ashley's cancer is back. It's not "facebook official" yet, but I had to get this shit off my chest, and know the guys who follow this build will understand. She has had a lymph node in her right axilla (armpit) for a few years now. Docs haven't been that concerned until she had a follow up ultrasound recently and noticed it has changed. Biopsy shows cancer is back, same strand she had before. PET scan Friday shows it contained in that area, thankfully. So plan for now is surgery and either remove ovaries or hormone therapy to kill estrogen production, followed by radiation. She's running a marathon in Big Sur next week, and the surgery will be scheduled for after that. She's freakin tough as nails. Pretty fair to say I'm pissed at the universe about now. So don't expect too many blazer updates for a bit. Kinda has me wanting to sell the damn thing. I'll keep you guys updated as we get more info though.

So....Ashley will simply run a marathon (no big deal) and then beat cancer after that... BADA$$ attitude Ashley, I like it. :waytogo:

That positive attitude sounds kind of like Rob (@rdn2blazer). Geez we've got some tough-as-nails people here on CK5.

Just seeing this. Sending my love and support brother. Wishing her the very best! Praying and pulling for her!

Sorry to hear man. Sounds like she's tough enough (and healthy enough) to pull through this again.

Appreciate you letting us know what's up.
