When I pull the rest of my dash (sheetmetal frame), is it going to affect my windshield's structural integrity? It's my DD right now, so I don't want to do something that will cause me trouble.

The dash piece does become part of the window frame. It's spot welded to it. There is a bend just before the spot welds. If you cut your dash loose at that bend line I don't think you will loose enough support to make a difference.

Do you plan to replace the dash? Put in a tube frame?

Awesome. Think that's all I need to know for now. Ordered a water pump for the Bimmer, so I can switch which vehicle sits for an undetermined period of time. :haha:

Your fine to cut the dash out if you cut it out on the bend. Just be sure you leave your VIN in place, i.e. cut around it, all kind of problems if that baby gets cut off seeing how its your DD.
