dash fuel gauge broke...whats next?

to get the dash gas gauge back working....drop tank...replace whole sending unit? or just float device? i'm dropping tank to do shackle "thingy" might as well get that working while its off, i hate writing down miles whats like difficulty level/time approx.? thnx ya'll
no comment on my "bed rail" doors? everyone sleepin out there!! heehee

Loosen the ground wire from the frame sand the frame to bare metal and reattach. If no change then cut the sending unit wire and ground it to the frame. If that changes it then your sending unit is bad and replace the whole thing.
