I have an aftermarket dash where the VIN hole does not line up with the VIN. The VIN tag is closer to the driver's side post (with only about 1/4 of the VIN showing through the dash window).
It got me wondering: I know mid to late 70's and up C/K series had the VIN on the dash, but did it move slightly during the 80/81 changeover? I know the dashpad changed slightly, I'm just wondering if the VIN location did too, or if it was a mistake in the aftermarket dash?
