What would y'all do about this top left screw location for the dash pad. Oem had a steel section where this screw would attach to. This dashes direct part has almost no support and none now that it fell off now and it's just vinyl. Also the Cheyenne pickup dash i just took out said to use wood screws to bite into the gauge cluster housing and now those are stripped with little effort. That's a terrible idea imo.

Any fart smellers out there with some ideas? I just want this to tighten back up.

Probably come back to it tomorrow after I clear my head about it.

Good news is this dash pad is more like the oem look I'm looking for. Color is right, shape is right, and the texture is much closer to original than the Cheyenne pad.
I got that going for me. Which is nice.

:surepal::dunno::rotfl: the fix

and fyi the 2 oem dash pads i have in the shop now i took out of parted trucks have the flat clip nut on that location and the 1 on the other side as well .

That's no material to attach a clip nut to.
I've thought of crazier ideas than the diy dash lol

I would try to fashion a piece of metal that the screw will go into with an extension long enough to catch the left putter lip when tightening and when loosening it would hit the alt gauge.
Similar to what the screws on this are going into, heck go buy one of these boxes and those tabs might work for the install.

Use a machine screw with a toggle bolt butterfly thing on it to catch the dash maybe ?..:thinking:toggle bolt.jpg

That's not a bad idea. I'm gonna think on that one.
