Dash Pad????

Ok so after pulling out my dash pad that has been stored for the last 7 years, I discovered it to be in pretty bad shape. The foam is deteriorating pretty bad and now it's cracked. So bottom line it needs to be replaced.

So here is my question. My K5 is a 78, a friend of mine has a good one from an 85. I know the 81 and newer have a more angular shape to them, but other than that I don't know much about them. Would the 85 dash pad work in my 78?

The dash frame never changed, so you can drop a newer pad on the older truck no problem. You'll need a new bezel too though.

I think you would have to replace the guage bezel and assorted other items also. Could be wrong though, just guessing.

Sweet!! It's still in the cab and has the bezel with it.

what they said about the bezal is right,on the pad it self when you get yours off you might find that there are less clips on it then the new one.take the extra ones off the new one or the dash will not sit down all the way.
