as some of you may have noticed in the gallery, i'm heading down the home stretch on my dash... since a couple gauge rings were damaged and needed refinishing i decided to bring the copper from the rest of the truck to the dash. copper and black will be the theme on the truck, in and out...

still needs to come back out for some work on the detachable harness and headlight relay mod.... also need to put the copper fill panel under the column and the rest of the black interior. please excuse the dust, smudges and generally poor pics.. they really don't do it justice...

eventually i'm going to replace the headlight toggles with some contura rockers... we have some at work out of the boats and they're sweet...

thank ya sir :D

it was a fair amount of work and i'm afraid to estimate the hrs, but i like how it came out, so it was worth it... hopefully i'll have the floor Herculined in a couple weeks... then i'll just need to do something about black door panels...

its actually back out right now.. ;) but heres one from the other side...

when its all together, done and cleaned up i'll take a bunch..

how did you mount them guages? are they flat or tilted?

oh, there angled alright... ;) i say that with a smile because that was the big deal.. i could have done it in 1/20 the time if i went with the flat panel.. but i was being stubborn and wanted them pointing at me... the normal dash angle is the same as where the toggles are. but as you can see above that it changes angles.. alot more fab involved..

i really wanna see how the new autometer LED bulbs are, but they're retarded expensive... i'm not dumping $80 in bulbs... saw em at the swapmeet, maybe i can get a deal at the fall show...

make me one?

that hasn't been ruled out.. i really should have made a mold.. i do have the templates tho... unfortunately they'd prolly be in the 200 to 300 range no prob with the cost of materials.. now if i pulled it and made the mold, they could prolly be done for 1/2 that...

well no rush, as i'm tight on money, but if you do decide to make some more, i'd definatly be up for it...with a few differn't mods then you did..ie..i have a/c and want to keep it...but don't have a radio..also how did you or what did you do fro the turn signals? or do you even have them?

yeah, different configs are simple enough...

well, the turn signal indicators are the green lights to the left and right of the speedo and tach.. the center blue is obviously beams. the amber at the bottom is the 4x4. the red to the right is check engine and amber is brakes..

Where can a guy pick up rocker switches like those?

couple pages worth here at Waytek

http://www.waytekwire.com/index.htm

go to products, switchs, contura rockers...

theres many options for these switchs.. tons of configurations, colors, soft or hard shell, 3 different models, etc... theres quite a few others that aren't on waytek's site...
