Is it possible to do a dash swap? Mainly just the instrument panel. Pairing it with my 78 but getting the 5.3, 4l60e swap also.

Not finding a decent priced 90-91 instrument cluster is the problem.
So are you asking if you can swap the '90 cluster into your '78?
If so, yes , that is possible. It will mount in the truck. I have been told that the wiring isn't terrible to do. I don't know from experience, but I parted a '79 K5 that had a electric speedometer and DRAC module in it.

I'm trying to find an alternative to the 1990-91 dash to use for my 5.3/4l60e swap.
They aren't that hard to find. How much is one worth to you?
The ones on ebay are ridiculous. I assume that's because the trucks rot out back east and are mostly already gone. Here the 90-91's are still pretty common, only reason to scrap them at this point is if something fails on the truck.
I've found them fairly easily for $25 locally, that's all I'm personally willing to pay. The housing and speedometer are the only parts "worth" anything IMO since those are the only two differences. The rest of the gauges are the same as earlier.
