After having my dash apart for a few months, I'm finally putting it back together but am having problems remembering some details. Does anyone know where the green plug in the pics below goes? I looked everywhere.... can't seem to find the other end!

thanks!

Thanks guys... does the open end plug into anything? Or does it just "hang" around?

I hit send to quickly.... I do still have the factory TBI hooked up. I looked everywhere and I can't find any place that the open end plugs into. I wish I hadn't taken so long to put this back together... I forgot everything!! :-)

I can get you a picture tommrow if it will help. I cann't remember which plug it was when I put mine back in, but only 1 connection will even fit it.

I just recovered one a couple weeks back. mine had 2 single plugs going to it. one is a ground, one goes to the ecm. Wire A-10 on a 747 ecm.

I had seen this several times here & at the Binder Bulletin site.

I will try to get you a pic of the plugs tomorrow.....

On mine, there is a cluster of ground tabs with several wires on it. The ground wire goes right there..

I'll get pics for ya.

Oops, try this one.......:D

Thanks for the help guys! If my truck doesn't have cruise control, do I need to worry about this plug?

I've seen it debated both ways. Since it goes to the computer, I would hook it up.

But that's just me...:D

It's been raining for a week here. It's pouring right now. Whenever it clears up, or if I grow gills, I'll get some pics for ya.....

Wondering if I shoulda built an ark.....??:eek1:

Should be two plugs for it. One a single wire, the other three?

One to cruise, one to computer, one power, one ground.

The way they plug in varies (number of wires per connector, number of connectors), I doubt yours uses a single large plug though. It COULD, I just haven't seen it.

I just found the plug with the three wires and hooked it up. Now I just need to find the plug that has one wire. Maybe it's the ground or something?

Thanks for your help!

Should be cruise. What color is it? I thought brown went to the ECM, can't really tell from that small picture, but it looks like purple or something? A10 I know is the pin on the ECM, shouldn't have to trace the color at the ECM though, a wiring diagram should show cruise AND ECM out.

From the ones I've seen the power/ground are on the same plug.

Here is some pics of mine, it is in 1986 that had a 305 and a carb new, also had ESC and cruise control.

That was all I had left that would plug in to mine when i put all the wiring back in.
I don't have an ecm any more on this old thing.

Yep. Power, ground, and output to cruise. Signal output is the same to cruise as it is to an ECM, so placement of output plug/wire isn't critical, as long as it IS an output.

last pic

If you look at the attached pic, I found the plug that goes where I have highlighted BLUE. Does the Yellow area also have a plug? From the pics above, it looks like it's left unhooked.

Thanks!

Yellow MIGHT have a plug. That's what I was saying. GM hooked those things up a variety of ways (depending on year apparently) where the yellow in yours could be the ECM output, or cruise, and vice versa for one of the wires on the "blue plug". The only way to know is look at a wiring diagram that shows your colors on the plug you have, and it's terminus, whether cruise or ECM.

If you've got the dash apart, does that mean the glove box is out? If so, disconnect the ECM plugs, and look at pin A10. Is the wire color the same as what is one on your VSS connector?

For some reason I want to think cruise is a yellow wire.

Probably overthinking this, but if you've got cruise and an ECM, you should have two plugs.
