Dash ???

So I even did a search and got nothing

I have a 85 burb with a really nice dash pad
I have a 80 K30 with a not so nice dash pad

I know they are different. However is the metal underneath the same? Can I put the 85 pad on the 80? Or does the metal need to be swapped also.

The short answer is yes and no. It fits, yes. Depends on your level of anal-ness. The '81-up pads have a different drivers side offset (sticks out more towards the driver on the top), so your dash bezel will be sunk in and not fit quite right. It'll fit, just not perfectly right. Some people might not even notice. Others it would drive batty. If you swap bezels too, watch out, many little changes over the years, radio location/size, wipers on the dash up to '84...stuff like that.
The metal underneath is no issue, dash fits that no problems.

So I can swap the whole thing over and be OK.

I have both set ups so that should not be an issue my concern has been the metal.

Looks like I may have a dash pad to pull before BB12, don't want to ruin it now that I can use it.
