Anyone ever try to re-work their busted up dash with one of those dashboard covers LMC sells for like 100bux. or is it better to just get the whole replacement? Im not talking just putting the cover on and calling it a day, im talking about stripping down the OEM one and somehow putting the cover on permanently

I would just go with a new dash pad. I have one of those covers on mine, it looks Ok but doesn't fit as well as the old Dash where it mates up with the gauge bezel.

Got one of these from LMC truck...it looked very good at first but after exactly 12 months it cracked and buckled. LMC did issued me a credit out of courtesy since it was out of warranty. I would not buy one again...spend the money on a new dash pad. I also tried one of those Urethane ones from LMC and sold it before I even installed it because the fit was terrible. Good luck...let me know if you find a good replacement...I'm still looking. :waytogo:

I have been down this road several times. Even the repop dash pads fit like crap. The dash pad covers fit worse and eventually crack. Just do yourself a favor and get a nice dash carpet.

After seeing what it looks like, when it's time to do mine, I'll pull it down to bare metal. Aluminum tape the back side holes and bed liner the entire dash cover. Looks great and it "almost" bullet proof.

Who said black? You can do even home bed liner kits in about any color you want. I tend to light/medium grey or tans.
