I am currently looking at a Trailblazer or Envoy (hate that name) as my next DD. I test drove one last week and it was a cool experience (I didn't buy, the truck had some issues... tailgate window would not open).

So looking at the GMT360 family what should I look for and look out for?

We have an 04 envoy and we love it. Granted its not the denali, but it's an SLT. We upgraded to TBSS struts and shocks, and its handles amazing. Otherwise we have only had small dumb stuff go bad, but these platforms have a rep. for wiring issues.

We had an 05 Trailblazer short wheel base for a few years (it was a lease, I'll never do that again). But it was a nice and comfortable little buggy. My wife loved it. Certainly not an off road 4x4 but when the snow was flying it did great. We would have bought it off the lease if her job didn't change and we needed something with better mileage, hence the Impala purchase.

My dad and his wife have an 03 Envoy they bought used. No major issues, same comfortable ride. Only things I've done on that are brakes which are basic repairs and the radiator fan clutch which is computer controlled and pricey. All in all not a bad vehicle.

My folks have an 05' Denali and the thing is PLUSH! The only complaint my parents have is that with the 5.3 it only gets 15-20 mpg... To me the 5.3 is awesome, nothing like having that many ponies in a "lighter" vehicle.
