Deal or No Deal??? HELP!!!!

jump on it for under a grand.tv cable needs adjusted.the trans will stay in high gear for awhile if you stay on the throttle.does it down shift from 4 to 3 to 2 correctly when you punch it.it should shift down when you put it around 3 quarter throttle.can you see under the carpet to look for rust?it hides a lot till you pull the xcarpet back.push your finger in around the wheelwells and rockers under the door.it will show soft spots where rust is rotting the metal.alignment is easy and will cost ya round 75 bucks.if its easy enough and you are serious about buying it,a shop will look it over for around 30 bucks.or at least take a friend that is knowlagable and has no link to the truck to get a second opinion.

It has no carpet left in it. I talked to the guy and we have worked out a deal. I gave him a couple hundred yesterday and I told him I for sure wanted the truck. He's going to hold it for me until I recover from $800 worht of college books and tuition that HOPE scholarship doesn't pay for. He told me I was welcome to come by anytime and mess with the truck. We talked and knocked off what he was asking for it here and there to have it realigned, replace all fluids, and a new tailgate window motor

good deal man.enjoy it.

Sounds good, get pics of it up when you get enough posts. You should be good now at 15. If you can i would suggest a membership here, tons of information plus all the help you could ever want. The best $25 bucks you could ever put towards your truck IMHO.

I plan to get my membership on here as soon as possible. I have tried viewing several pictures on here only to be told i have to be a paid member so I will be joining. I'm also going to run the carfax just to know the history on it.Or is it not worth it?? The pictures i had were of it still in the bushes but before I head off to my first day of school today I'm going to stop by and take some better photos. Hopefully the man started cleaning out all of his junk that was thrown in it.

Me personally, I wouldn't worry about a carfax....it's pretty old already. Seeing it in person and really looking at it will tell you the condition or not. Take that money and get a membership here. A ton of stuff here.

You can align the truck yourself too.....mainly just the toe is all that can be adjusted by a shop. Do a search on here and you'll see some good instructions.

Go through the front end and brakes competely. It will give you a good base point. Also change the fluids as soon as you can afford. Good piece of mind that all the parts have fresh oil......

Congrats! Post pics when you can.

check the frame at the steering box.

that is the #1 thing i wish i KNEW to look for before i bought my truck.

a year later the frame cracked through and the steering box was just dangling.

I have to get some degreaser and clean it up pretty good and check that out. I made the guy turn the steering wheel back and forth while I watched it. It was not rocking back and forth so I don't believe its cracked. I will get the brace that ORD makes just to sturdy it up to be safe!

Nice. I really like the big dent in the right door. I may have to go out and kick mine in just because.

Not bad, looks like a solid body. Interior could use a good cleaning, or a match...

What's growing in the rear wheel wells?

A tornado caused the dent in the door supposedly. But I have my doubts about that.

The interior does need a MAJOR cleaning but some cheap seat covers can temporarily hide the seats.

The wheel wells all have dried mud caked in them. Hopefully the pressure washer and some time will have all the mud out from under it and out the wheel wells..

The door will be taken care of eventually.
I would like to have new seats put in eventually but I have to get the important stuff taken care of first such as changing all the fluids, getting the brakes right, and make sure nothing else needs replacing. Until then I have to live with the scars and scratches it has accumulated throughout the years

Scars and scratches are character. Fix the important mechanical issues first. When you do get to the seats, look into seats from a 00 and newer Silverado. They are THE best improvement I've made to mine... so far. I wrote an install thread in the tech section here on CK5, I think you need to be a member to get in there though.

Sounds good man! I plan to join as a member pretty soon. My dad has a 1999 ext cab (same as 2000) silverado with leather seats that have just been redone not too long ago. Its around 250,000 on the odometer right now and his transmissions starting to shift funny. Hmmm just maybe when something happens to it he will give me the seats out of it and he can just get a whole new truck. hahaah i may as well keep wishing:haha:
