Paid $50 for a welded 12 bolt + installation.

My buddy beat the hell out of it on a k10 w/ 39.5 boggers and it never broke. We tore it apart and inspected everything and it's like a dream. I don't know how he pulled that one off. I'm talking dry road donuts w/ 39.5s on a 12 bolt:haha:

Anyway, cleaned it up, painted and dropped some new oil in her and she's on my K10 with 35's. My friend said he'll shake my hand if i break it. I did a couple donuts and she's fine lol.

It's unbelievable though how much stuff i can do in 2wd that i'd have to use 4wd for before, not to mention it's a whole lot of fun / looks cool doin donuts in a K10 lol

Adding a rear locker is probably the single best change you can make to a truck to transform it from a useless poser to a capable wheeler.

For $50 it was a downright steal.

I agree... what a steal...

also... if I had to start from scratch on building a truck... my very first mod would be lockers front and back.... makes a truck soooo much more capable...

then would come the :hack: :haha:

Do you mean the spidder gears are welded? Do you drag the inside tire when you turn corners?

Ha! Yes! I have my 14 bolt's spider gears welded up and yeah the inside tire def chirps going around turns. But with boggers on the rear its amazing what I can get through. Good job on a cheap easy mod.

i dony know how the hell he didnt break it,but i broke 2 12 bolts and was workin on the 3rd when i switched to a 14 bolt ff.50 bucks is definitely good though.i got one for 200 and the other with a posi for 250.if it lasts a month of hard wheeling, you got your moneys worth.

haha i don't know how to explain it guys, we've been friends a while and I RODE WITH HIM doing donuts on the dry pavement with 39.5s. Never had a problem with the 12 bolt.

Any other time i'm totally against 1/2 ton crap, but i trust this thing, i've watched it been beat to piss, and somehow, it works just fine.:doah:

I know i've gone thru 2 10b in the rear of my blazer when it was stock and not lifted, so I hate them with a passion, but my father runs a 12b and never had any prob. His used to be lifted on 35s with a detroit and though he never wheeled it real hard, I'd seen it in some precarious situations and never had a problem. Now, the 12b is on strictly street duty as he lowered his '82 K10, dropped the t-case, put in a 502:D:bow: to drag it. Been doing it for 3yrs and not prob with it. Know they're not as strong as a 14 but I won't be scared to run one after seeing the life my dad's has lead

so then it is a good thing that every truck I bought has had a d44/14bff combination???:haha:

if you had a business welding and installing rearends for $50, the only problem you would have is having too many customers.
