Ok...just welded on ORDs weld in kit. Was hoping i would not have the DW anymore, but that's just not how it goes i guess.

I did the up and down check on the the tires while on jacks. The right side has alot of play...the left side not as much. This weekend I will be replacing the wheel bearings. I Just forked out alot to repair the frame and am limited this week on what i can use. My choices are Balljoints and wheel bearings or packed calipers and rotors. I think the ball joints and wheel bearings. Where do you think i should go with it?

well to be honest my goal is not to just replace whats wrong with it... but i want to replace what i can while i have it open.

I believe the play was in the lower ball joint on the rf,it moved a substantial amount, Not sure on the sided to side check yet.
Anyone have a better direction?

With the tire in the air grab the bottom of the tire and the top. Pull the bottom outwards...if it moves outward the balljoint is junk. Now try to push the bottom inwards and pull the top outwards. If the top moves outwards the upper balljoint is junk too.

Drop it back down on the tires and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you watch all the links. Pitman arm to drag link, drag link to steering arm, tie rod ends. All should have no appreciable movement of the link itself. Have a look at the rag joint while you're checking things out.

Fix the worn parts, then do an alignment...which you can do yourself with a tape measure. All you can really udjust is the toe on these front ends. Camber can be changed but it requires special shims and stuff.

I'm betting bad ball joints X4.

Its funny you guys say this in a DW thread. My 10b that I had on my truck before had a rediculous amount of play as you are describing to diagnos bad BJ's. Both sides, top and bottom of the wheel. I had no deathwobble and my steering was tight as could be.

It depends on how the alignment is, and on how balanced the tires are too. True DW is pretty rare with a balljoint front end...
