Ok so i got my dana 60 installed, and now i have a ridiculous death wobble at about 25 mph, what could be causing this? it has new king pins and bushings on both sides and ORD crossover.....

The first 8 months of daily driving my truck after I installed my dana 60, I didnt have any death wobble. Then it started. I changed my steering stabilizer and it went away for about 6 months. Then it came came back. I rebuilt the upper kinpins, and it went away for another 6 months or so. Then it came back about a month ago, so I rotated my non balanced 37s and it has gone away again. There are so many factors in causing the Death Wobble, its a hit and miss game. I think because of the way the Dana 60 is designed, you start putting on larger tires, wider tires, and out of balanced tires you will put your self closer to the wobble as the front end parts wear out. I have actually read in these forums of people who have completely rebuilt their 60 and still had a the infamous wobble haunt them.

So check you stabilizer, your spindle bearings, balance your tires, and check for any loose tre's. Oh check your alignment especially after installing the crossover.

Well whats strange is that is was on mystep dads blazer that has 40 inch tires and it never wobbled once on his, then i put it on my truck with 42s and BAM deah wobble.

spring bushings or weak packs have been said to cause it also. Plus check the angle of your knuckle to see if you need shims. Should be 6* if i read the other threads right.

Long shackles with soft springs up front too. If your 60 parts are good I'd look at that stuff first. Lot of lateral movement with longer shackles and soft leaves.

Check your caster angle. IIRC between 5-8 degrees is normal depending on the year of truck it came from. You want a little more than less to help if that matters.

I know it would be a pain, but throw your Dad's 40's on your truck and see if it goes away.

Ya i would bet my money on my front springs or my 6.5 inch shackles. but i could try the 40 inch tire swap. Or just sell the 60 and get rockwells haha:whistle:
