I'm considering selling my 6" lift deaver spring packs and upgrading to some longer packs. What do you guys think that these packs are worth used, but in decent shape? They cost approximately $1400 new...

ARe your Deavers fronts or rears and are they stock length now?

I was told by Stephen at ORD that the 52" front spring conversion is really more fabrication work then it yields in suspension flex. He said an aftermarket spring will get you as much or more flex then you will even want or need. Said you should run limitting straps for the droop. He said the amount of time and fabrication will not yield you any more then an aftermarket set of springs will. And you don't have your stock steering geometry get changed which will effect high-steer cross over setups. Hense the reason I decided to leave my fronts stock length and will eventually get a set of Deavers. In the rear I did a 64" spring swap, but will end up with 64" deavers as well.

In the rear, if you feel its not enough now then I could see going for say a 64" spring conversion. Of course 64" Deavers will flex much better then a stock chevy spring will. I'm running a set of 1/2 ton 64" in back.

Thank you for the info, I was not really aware of this. My initial reasoning was that my stock length fronts are quite a bit stiffer than I would like, I originally thought my valving was contributing so I pulled the shocks, but was still way to stiff. My shackle angles look good, so I just assumed going to a longer spring would help. I spoke with Deaver a few weeks ago and they will detune and take some of the stiffness out of them for $175 a pair.

Any other suggestions?

I would avoid going longer in front. It kills your approach angle and doesn't help performance IMO over a good aftermatket spring.

One of the other members here had Deaver re-arc his springs and it took like 4 tries for them to get it correct. I think they over heated them and they ended up sagging so they had to make him new springs. I can try and find him and you can contact him. He was very unhappy with what it took to get it right, but in the end he was satisfied with the new springs. He has delt with Deaver alot so he's someone good to talk to. I'll look for him and post back up in a bit. MNorby has a good suggestion about them I agree with too. Another reason to stick with stock length up front. I would go with a Military wrap which yours probably are anyways being Deavers.

Thanks again guys. This is making me reconsider my plan... I'll post updates once I make a decision.
