I just bought my first 2wd full size. It's an '87 3/4 ton with 350tbi, th400 trans and 4.10 g80 14sf rear. It's all stock and needs tires. Currently has bald 235/85/16 michellin street treads that I doubt will do well when the snow flies. I want to keep the stock wheels, I'm not lifting it and I'd like something more aggressive. Need input.

Dunlop A/Ts or if you want something with real bite that is more of a commercial type tire get the Dunlop R/T. I have the 265/75 R/Ts on my wheeling rig, the sidewalls are ridiculously durable and they have them in that funky 235/85 size you need.

I used to have the Dunlop A/Ts, I found them to be a great wearing tire with a bit less of a price hit as compared to the BFG (which I have also had on my truck). At some point they upgraded from a 50k to a 60k tire warranty. Also they are all US made.

My towing tires are the same size , 235/85/16 . I run Yokohama Geolanders in load range E . Long even wear , hard to puncture running over a binder that fell off a semi in front of me :D

they have a A/T tread too , with some side tread , should be fine in snow
