Alright i tried searching here and google with no luck and its startin to piss me off. Im wanting to build a stroker out of a 350 that i had in my backyard. I went and pulled all the numbers.

On the back it says

GM 5.7LG SGI

J282

14093638

Then from the front of the engine infront of the right head V1103UKA

could some one please help! Im trying to figure out what year this block is.

I'm not of much help right now but i could look it up tomorrow or you can check it out on mortec.com. Unless you are just wanting to know what year the block is for your own reference it really doesn't matter other than 1985 and earlier are a 2 piece rear main seal and 1986 and later are a 1 piece rear main seal engine which is really your only concern with maybe the exception of driver or pass dipstick if it is an early engine.

Here is what your engine is:

14093638...350...87-95...2 or 4...Roller or flat tappet cam, one-piece rear seal

The kit i was looking at says up to 85 and accoring to mortec it says my block is a 14093638...350...87-95...2 or 4...Roller or flat tappet cam, one-piece rear seal

So i guess that means im looking into a different kit.

yep, you have the 1 piece rear seal block which is 1986 and later. You can verify this yourself by looking at the back of the engine with the flexplate off and you should see an aluminum adapter plate bolted to the back of the block which has the rear seal in it.

Not all of the 1986 and later blocks are set up to directly accept the roller cam.

J282= block was cast Oct. 28, year ending in a 2 (likely 1992)
14093638= Flint engine plant, machined Novenber 3rd

all this fits the 86-95 year range

to be sure, look at the reat of the crank, if there is a aluminum plate surounding the end of the crank, and it holds the seal, plus, the rear of the crank(where the flywheel/flexplate bolts) is round, all this fits, so, figure its a 92 350
