Defrost not working

there is an adjustment tab on top of the box that may help with that.

In anticipation of having to replace that white plastic clip I had my friend order one ahead of time. So to do some preventative maintenance I’m going to go ahead and replace it. Like I said, been a while since I replaced mine. Do you just unbolt it, remove the pin holding the linkage and it slides out? Any chance of the linkage falling back down behind the diverted door?

IIRC the linkage will stay put, plastic piece is screwed onto door and pined to linkage

I did something similar to mine since I didn’t want to wait to order one. I’ve seen someone selling billet aluminum ones for $15 now.

I don’t have my friend’s truck here right now so I was unsure. Does the old one just slide out of the slot it’s in without removing anything else besides the screw and pin?

That clip looks like it could be substituted with an EMT conduit strap or plastic pipe strap

Not really, needs to extend out to where it’s originally screwed to for strength like Wes did. Easier to bend two piece of metal at 90*, one on either side of the linkage, and screw those metal pieces to the door. I think I made mine out of a piece of small square tubing with a bend for the tab. But for $15 I’d just get the one I posted and never worry again.
