I just changed the heater core in my eighty five blazer. While reinstalling everything, I noticed that there's a huge gap between the defroster duct and the heater box. What do I have wrong?

that gap varies by truck even same make and year. Factory there was a foam gasket to fill that gap. It probably disintegrated years ago. I taped mine with Gorilla tape. It is tedious to do, but can be done. Metal duct tape might be easier to get between the firewall and box.

I gave up and went aftermarket, the defrost air movement sucks on these trucks as it is.

I installed Vintage Air, heat only. But I only drive it in the summer with the top down. Now I have pile of heating and AC stuff to get rid of.
