I have a set of 56" front springs with the DIY4X B52 kit and really long shackles. The B52 doesn't drop down as far as my last setup (spring mounts hanging off the front of the bumper) and my pinion on my Dana 60 is rotated down quite a bit. What are you guys with around a 7" shackle and 56" springs in front doing as far as degree shims. I think someone mentioned 9* before???? Need to do something the driveshaft is binding at ride height.

A few guys will so no to shims but I run them and have no problems. When I started running 56's binding was a big deal so shims was a cheap way to help it some. Not sure of my degree but the tall end of mine are a good 3/4inch.

first pic you can see the driver side real low.

trying to stick to parts readily available at a Kragen or Napa for my rig. That's always worked for me especially when I break stuff in the middle of nowhere.

i bought two of em. also its a 1350, probably not gonna break it unless im grinding it on rocks.
theyre DIY4x shims, found the best pic of them. much smaller than the other set.

Remember that shims will affect your caster, if you drive the truck on the street at all pointing the pinion up (unless you grind out the welds on the inner c's and turn them) will significantly affect driveability.

I don't have a huge lift and I'm not trying to point the pinion way up like the guys with 12" lift mud trucks. Just trying to get it back to normal position. When I switched from my low front spring hanger mounts to the more frame flush B52 kit is when my problems started. I didn't know the b52 kit was going to be that close to the frame. Kinda wishing I kept it as is:

Whats up with this setup. Is that like a winch cradle body mount B52 all in one?

Edit: Never mind just looked at the b52 on diy4x and its a body mount spring hanger. Looks like you just welded it to you cradle?

Yes it is a winch cradle, body mount and spring hanger all tied into 1. The tech. name would be an A-Bomb.

What does your pinion angle measure now and what does your caster angle measure now?

Hey Kert, just ordered 3 10* shims from you. The truck is about an hour away, I'll do some measurements when I get over there this week.

Sounds good. That's the only way to know the proper course of action.
