Does the delay system have to have a special wiper motor capable of utilizing the delay function, or does a regular 2 speed motor work with the delay unit?

I think it's a regular motor, and a delay module under the dash. Should be a different switch too...

any ideas if the plug in connectors at the motor are the same then?

just wondering if the plugins at the wiper motor are the same for a non delay motor as they are for a delay motor? I'm working on a 76

Well, I only have the wiring diagram for my 91 but I can take some photos of the plugs on it for you if you like.

Some pics would be cool....to compare with what I have now, but I was looking at some wiper motor apps and it doesn't list anything different for a non delay unit, so I assume they are the same, only the delay unit is different?

Dave I found the plugs to be pretty much the same but there is an extra switch on the delay from the new delay style. I think, I couldn't make it work and just wired a 3 pole switch for my wipers. I think it switches ground on the older models. Atleast I think, I could be loosing it though, its been awhile

LMC Truck shows one wiper motor with a delay module. Has diagrams too.
I only see the knob for the dash mounted delay unit...is there another I'm not finding?
any links or pics?

:haha::haha:, yeah I'm looking for an add on to my CC, and I suck at wiring, so if its not pretty simple, I'll just have to thumb the button manually.

Motor and wires are the same! The box in picture is the delay and if it stops working just unplug and go back to two speed on the same switch.
