I can't find any real details on this board. I assume the drives are SATA and are sitting in PCI slots?

I'm moving data at 2.3GB/min and it's too goddamn slow.

Drives are PATA, half on the motherboard's controller and half on an add-on PCI controller.

I would not characterize this as fast for writes, as it uses software RAID5. Reading is pretty good, but can be bottlenecked by the NIC.
