delete thanks

It has to be head gasket or cracked head did you pull all the plugs on that side you probly have one that is washed clean
you need to do some thing thats a lot of water dilusion it only takes
5% water to cut oils lube by 50%

nope none are washed clean

thats whats stumping me!

i dont understand it

got water in oil and owner says it white smokes out driver side exhaust

yet ive never seen any smoke

im lost

humm..

i'd start with a cooling system pressure test... than a leakdown...

more than likely that head will have to get yanked...

ok we just got done pulling both heads off and damn they are both warped bad,

the middle of the heads are qarper upwards and ends downwards!

we gonna run aorund town and hunt up another set of heads

it still had the factory steel shims on it

never been touched before today since 74 factory

thanks

been there man....

how long has it run with water in the oil?

that will kill a bearing faster than running it low on oil.

I was gonna say its probably the intake seeing as its not stock and had to have been put on... I had that problem with my 355 bad, intake gaskets were old and i didn't change em when i put the new manifold on. never ran it more than 10 minutes all together with water in the oil and it wasn't alot of water but 2 inches sounds like a hell of a lot of water.

we gonna gamble with the bototm end it seems fine ran strong and all,

we found a set of old 993 heads in good shape for free

putting them on tomorrow

thanks

oh and after looking closer we found that the #5 piston was cleaner than all the rest

so theres where water was burning, driver side, third cylinder from front..

you probably know this but don't reuse the intake gasket... get new ones for 12 bucks otherwise you'll be right back where you started.

yeah were going to do something alright, gonna replace oil a couple times in a row,

thats about all that can be done

the valve covers are caked bad in frothy film heh

water cuts oil that bad ?

damn,

first off chill... i wasn't trying to offend you... I don't know how many motors you've built cause i can't read minds over the computer. second, your looking at him... i reused my intake gaskets for 2 reasons... one, the motor had barley been run and two it was the first motor i've ever worked on at least in a truck.

I now know that the motor not being run has nothing to do with being able to reuse gaskets, and also to question my dads knowledge every now and then.

I asked him if we should use the brand new felpros and he said "no it should be alright" but his mind was pretty damn scattered that day.

I've learned alot since then.

dude chill,

youve got it all wrong, i was laughing when i posted that haha

no worries lol
