I had to replace the same part on my 94.
I really didn't look to see if the assembly could be rebuilt or not, but I got mine from a slavage yard rather than buy it from GM, too dang expensive!

I'm assuming though that if you could find the spring somewhere you could just replace it, but about the only place you will find it is in a good latch assembly, and it would just be easier to replace the whole thing then. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

thats the whole problem, just the spring, and odds of finding an assembly with a good spring on it thats isnt busted yet or isnt about ready to are pretty slim really.
