Asking for a friend...

A buddy has access to Delrin somehow and is curious if it would be good to use for bushings on roll cage frame tie ins? What say y'all?

Imo, I'm thinking it's probably too hard and more similar to solid mounting than typical urethane bushing.

I think it would be fine. It is harder then poly. But softer then metal. It has built in lube so you don't have to grease it and it won't squeak.
I don't know if anyone uses it for that but I would think it would be ok. They use it suspension. And those joints are under extreme stresses.

That's cool, I didn't know about the built in lube aspect.

If you get something with delrin, they tell you not to lube it, because it will just attract dirt with will cause it to wear quicker. The grit will get stuck in the delrin.

Im a moldmaker and we use alot of delrin for bushings and wear plates for the reason Beags mentioned

Low friction coefficient(slick) for molds where you can't use grease cause it will get on the molded parts
(Bottles)
Tensile strength 11,500 psi
High fatigue endurance
Google properties and you'll see it has good specs

Another great thing is it machines nicely with crisp edges and doesn't smear like some plastics

i run delrin as both, wear-pads for my cable carrier, and hold down blocks for my cables...
