Does anyone here happen to know how to tell what year a drill press was made by maybe the serial number? I bought an older Delta/Rockwell drill press model #15-091 and would like to determine what vintage it is. My best guess is mid 80's. If anyone knows and needs the serial number i can get that also.

Scott, get me any and all number you can off the thing. There is a guy at work who has a crap load of machinery books dating way back.

Scott, the guy I work with hasn't been able to find out anything but what you already know about being early-mid 80's

A few years back, I acquired an old tilt top Delta table saw. Solid cast iron base and top...............

I emailed Delta's customer service with the SN, and they sent me back the manu date, AND a sevice manual. Turns out it was built in 1955, but the model came out in 1937.
