Got a Demon carb today. Not sure of the cfm on it or really wtf it's all about as I have never dealt with one. Just wondering if they are any good and if they are a street only carb. It is on a running SBC and sounds really healthy.

I know a guy that took it off his engine cuase he didnt like it...

All ive heard is they are better for race engines..on strips.

Demons are basically rounded modern looking Holley carbs with billet pieces that perform as well as a Holley if you clean the chips out of them from the manufacturing. You can use all the standard Holley parts in them of the same style carb.

ive heard that they are only good for on road or track.dont do well with off camber or bouncy off roading.they start to flood.if i remember from the last time they were talked about on here about a year ago.there was a pretty good thread about it.

I run a 850 speed demon on my 496. It has the same characteristics as a regular holley offroad. However, it seems to be a nicer piece overall than a holley, billet vs cast. Kinda like the difference between a toyota & lexus. Same general piece, just a little higher quality. But yeh, as was said before, all the parts will interchange (jets, accel pump cams, fuel bowl gaskets, etc).
