Dent Fix - Help

Hi all - I have a little dent on my right front fender just behind the headlight that is bugging me. I'd like to punch it back out, but it's in a tight spot. GM in their infinate wisdom, spot-welded the front fenders on instead of using all bolts. It's not creased, but is about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch in and fist size. Any ideas? - Gary

try a suction cup (sold at most auto parts stores) or a plunger w/ soapy water.

If you have never done body work it may end up looking worse. Fenders are bolted on not welded. So if it is spot welded someone else did it not G.M.
 
Dents give character! I remember when I waffled my passangers side fender on a tree. boy did it look bad at first, but now, I don't even give it a second glance. I love all my dents and rot holes. With out them, people wouldn't get out of my way on the highway!

Anyway, I wouldn't mess with trying to pull a dent. You may end up making it look even worse.

where hes talkin about(i think)is a spot where the inner and outer fender is welded together.as advice earlier said id leave it alone.that is kind of a tough spot to mess with.and you could end up making it look worse.if your planning to go ahead and do all the bodywork go for it.otherwise id leave it for now.

Really.... Maybe I need to take a closer look, but when i only the hood, I don't see bolts along the top of the fender where it meets the engine bay like on most vehicles. Instead the metal is sort of pinched together every foot or so... not the type of welds that you or I would make with extra metal added. Can you tell me where the bolts are found, if indeed they are just bolted on. Thanks
