Ok so tonight after I got home I had my hands full and had to shut the driver door to my truck. So I shut it with my foot on the corner but it didn't close all the way so I shoved it with my shoulder and left a nice dent in my door.
 :doah: :o  :( :screwy:
No pictures yet... but I will tomorrow
Anyone have any advice on how to get the dent out?

I was thinking of taking the door panel off and punching the dent out from behind. But I'm worried about a slight crease that formed at the bottom of the dent because it extends from the bottom of the door to just below the body line.

I am a bodyman so I would sujest trying to bang the dent out from the inside . You will never get it near perfect , but better . If you have access to a torch i would also apply a little heat to shrink it some . In any case you are gonna be into using a fairamount of bondo . The very best thing 2 do is to re and re with a new door they are chaeappppppp man and simple to piece back together .

push the dent out from the inside carefuly and work the crease line aith a flat faced hammer.you can cover the hammer face with duct tape to hel protect the paint.should be able to get 90% of it out that way

I dunno if this really works or not, but you never know.

Thats a cool idea, but the dent is too big for that...

Well I did get the dent out by pulling the door panel and hitting from the backside. However the crease that the dent left on the bottom is annoying.

Also I hate bondo there's no chance I would have bondo'ed over it. I thought bondo was supposed to be used to fill minor improfections in the metal, not to cover rust, fill dents, or fill holes.

congratulations, you now have a truck that you can wheel without worrying about the first dent or scratch. :D

its all down hill from here on out. if you replace the door or door skin you can pass go and collect $200, otherwise its Baltimore ave for the rest of your life.

welcome to the dark side, say good bye to artzner and the rest of your dent/scratch free friends and come get a group hug from myself, supersize75k5 and the rest of the real wheelers.
