Dented Gas tank

will **** up your gas gauge!

Blazer died on me backing into the drive way last week, couldn't get it fired again for anything, gas guage read half a tank, but it wasn't getting fuel...ran through eveerything, no luck until I pulled the skid off and realized how well I had smashed the tank in. Lowered the tank a few inches, and thought "damn this thing is light!" Decided to hook everything back up and try again, started and sputtered. Dumped 4 gallons from my jug in......truck runs fine.

I was pretty pissed that pump was running but not pushing any fuel, lol

How did it get dented with the skid plate on? The side?

You must have whacked it good to read 1/2 a tank at empty. Let Jeff asked how with the skid in place???

Easy, you wack it hard the skid plate gives and then springs back.
I had the same thing happen to me, but I never trusted my guage anyway.
