so since ive got the truck ive noticed it had a dent in the pass side front of the vavle cover. i noticed the surrounding area looked oily but i had no real apparent leaks. i finally took a close look today and noticed its actually sweating out of the cover itself, not the surrounding gasket. how hard is it to replace yourself? or how much should i expect to payy for someone else to do it? should i be worried. motor rattles perfect and runs strong. thanks

i have a picture but im having problems getting it off my phone or attaching it here with the phone so.. should i go to the 6.2 forum? hopefully i can show you guys what i mean tommorow..

if your valve cover is cracked or leaking itself then yeah just go out to the junk yard and find yourself another set.. pretty easy to do if its anything like a gas motor

It is, and it isn't. The valve cover itself is the same, but the fuel lines drape over the valve cover. They don't take too kindly to bending so it's best to remove the fuel lines to be able to remove and replace the valve cover. Of course the intake needs to be removed to remove the fuel lines (so you'll need those gaskets too). The the fuel system needs to be bled to get it re-fired.

Prolly a 2-3 hour job for a pro.

well i would not reccomend for long term but you can clean the area really well and j/b weld it.

two part epoxy...and it'd do just fine as long as it's not a 1/2" round hole you're filling. Brake kleen the area, wire wheel it to bare steel, apply JB weld.

The next time you have to do injectors, or an IP then you can replace the valve cover.

all the local autos carry it the stuff works awsome just dont like to recomend it too much people get carried away. I use it alot on motorcycle atv cases.
