:( Due to a financial crunch I have to sell one of my Blazers and since 2wd's are more rare I have decided to put old Yeller on the chopping block. I really have no clue on what to price it at so some input would be great.

Body: Probably 1 quarter size issue on each door, a dime issue on the hood, Tailgate looks to have had some bondo on the inside. Front floors seem to have been half-assed repaired at one point and the rocker Boxes are missing. Body is very straight aside from that. Oh, Needs a passanger inner fender (dumped a battery and acid ate it up)

Drivetrain: D44 up front (6 lug) and 14 Bolt FF out back. Have 4.56 gears and master install kits in a box to go with the truck. 350/th350 with np205 case. Lift is 6 inch suspention and 3 inch body. Rear has a shackle flip. 38 inch PJ's have probably 85 % tread left. Wheels are Chrome mods which 2 are flaking apart (rusty).

MISC: Gas tank is a steel Repro 1.5 yrs old. Hard and soft tops (older Bestop)

Can't really think of anything else. Feel free to ask. There are a couple pics in this thread. This is really depressing.

Is this really your only option??

As I'm sure you know, you're going to lose your a$$ selling your truck...

If there's any other way to borrow some cash (even at a bad interest rate)?? You might still end up better off than losing a few grand by selling this K5 cheap enough to get quick cash...

yeah, it may be better to get a higher interest loan (20-25%)? and keep the trucks if at all possible...both trucks are beautiful, but like greg said, no way in hell will you get out of them what you put into them. id rather lose 25% than say 50% from selling the truck...

This is really my only option. I only have 1 income in the family because my wife is a full time student. My mother was watching my 1 year old son for the first year but has decided she cannot watch him anymore. I am now forced into a daycare situation which will be costing me $150 a week that I cannot afford.

Can't afford any loan payments or daycare payments so the truck has to go. I was hoping maybe to get $6K or so to pay for the daycare for a year or so. I will be a single income for 1.5 years until the wife is out of school.

Is this a $6K truck?

It might be.....but like always, it comes down to how long you are willing to wait to "get your price". You'll probably get plenty of lowball offers in the $3500 - $4000 range if I had to guess.

Are there any other ways you can save money on monthly expenses?

There are really only two ways to come up with an extra $150/wk.....make more money (2nd job) or cut existing expenses to reduce your cost of living.

I'm not sure that there is any ONE thing that's going to save you $600/mo, but if you could somehow reduce expenses to cut that down to maybe $300/mo, you might be able to find other alternatives to selling the truck.

Cheaper "basic" cable TV?
No dinners out
Get rid of cell phones
Take truck off the road, cancel insurance for 1 year
Carpool to save gas?

If you have a good handle on what your expenses are, you can take a hard look at which ones can be reduced and if there are items that aren't "critical" for you to have (cell phones, cable tv, etc). Sacrifices are required obviously, but you might be able to find ways to keep the truck if you get creative enough.....

I live a pretty basic lifestyle and am very thrifty. Sadly I have no options as I am living pretty minimal on extras now. With the morgate and Florida tax/insurance rates added to my 2 daily driver car payments, I am screwed. I live pretty close to what I make and there is no room for an extra $300 much less the $600 I need per month.

If I sell the 4x4 (which I never get to drive anyway) Im sure I can get another in a few years. I have accepted this loss and being a responsible parent, this is the right choice.

Thanks for trying to help with options but Valuation is the goal of this thread.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I understand the child care situation. My wife works part time about 4 hours in the morning while i do full time on swing shift just to keep from paying child care. I have the option to go to days anytiime i want, but $150 a week times 3 children.  Way too much!!!.

Heres a secret if you want to make some serious cash go into Daycare.

Like you said you can always get another 4X4 when times get better. Way to take care of the Family and good luck!!

Sacrifices suck. Thats why they are sacrifices. Not sure if you have investigated daycare completely but, I have lots of friends with stay at home wifes/moms that would love an opportunity to watch other kids to bring in a little extra cash. Its the cheapest, best daycare around. they are friends, also family. Who better to watch the kiddos? Mqake some phone calls, explore all your resources befor takin a drastic step like selling the blazer which is only a temporary solution to a permenant problem. Good luck

It's an awfully nice truck and I think you ought to be able to get what you're wanting out of it, but it might take a little luck finding the buyer. Get it in your local paper and on Craigslist and e-bay and see what happens. You can always drop the price if needed.

Someone is gonna get a nice truck - sorry that this is the option that faces you but you know what you gotta do.

I would guess that your truck should fetch $6,000 in FL. If it were here in Seattle, probably closer to the $4,500 range, just because there are more around here. Your truck gives a great first impression. Clean it up well and put it up for sale. See what happens. You could also put the 2wd up for sale at an astronomical price and see what happens.
