Desert Trip 2017: Trip Report.

GoPro studio is being a pain in the rear lately. Keeps crashing as I'm trying to process mulitple videos. If I can't get it to work, I'll be uploading a bunch of individual shots.

But I was able to get one set tonight. This one is of me trying to climb out of the canyon on day 2. This is where we realized the front axle had something wrong.

With it getting dark stupid early again, weekend driveway work sessions are weather limited unless I schedule time over at Larry's place. So I'm back at editing video footage. Here's one more. Playing in the sandy wash.

Some of my fake gopro footage on this one. Seemed to cleanup in editing. This is Larry, Ty and Don climbing out of the rough spot.

Trying out some new editing software before I plunk down money for it. So you all get to deal with a watermark on this one. The software is way better than GoPro Studio. It doesn't hang up and crash every time I try to convert a video for editing. So check it out but the software works so much better I'll probably end up buying a license to run it and not have the watermark. Just trying it out for now.

Bought the software. Much much better than Gopro Studio. Way easier to process/edit. Even can do split screens. So I tried it out on this one where I'm climbing up the stairs on the Devil's Racetrack trail. Part my footage from the camera on the winch and part Larry's footage from his phone. Came out pretty cool.

More coming.

More day one action on the stairs. Larry getting stuck, Ty and Don walking right through it.

I like the split screens. Gives a great perspective of the spotter / driver communication.

Thanks. The split screen is pretty cool to put together. When I have the footage to match up I'll try to use it. Not sure of the remaining footage I have I'll have any more to split like that. The rest of the week of wheeling was less challenging than when we were in the swell.
