After reading the recent thread on supercharged diesels, and watching some YouTube Detroit videos I ran across this one :eek1: I really dig the sound of the old 2 strokers and since this one is stuffed into a Chevy it's even cooler :D

only way you could fit a tall motor like a 2 stroke detrioit in there is with that. drop the motor way down or lift the body way up.

Those motors are TALL

i would get in way to much trouble. . . .

and 2wd truck yes.

also allison auto tranny.

dont know what gears but if it was me i would find a set of 3.42 or 3.23 gears for the 14ff rear to make it a real scremin road machine.

and if he reads this ditch the 6" body lift blocks and refab the body mounts on the frame to rais the body up. and lift the gas tank also. then it would be a killer unit.

I've had thoughts of something like that since I played with my first Detroit way back when. I think I can do a better job of running the rack on that one though.

Neat but I'd rate it as a fail. Any vehicle you could drive down the highway that you need to give out hearing protection on was poorly planned IMO. 3 years of driving a 6V-53 in in a chev Brigadier has left me with permanent hearing loss. They are LOUD!

I remember one of the first Dodge/Cummins that came in the shop. An elderly couple bought it to pull their camper. They had installed two hooks on the dash to hold their ear muffs while parked. When they picked it up I'll never forget the two of them driving off wearing their ear muffs, him driving and her riding while doing her knitting. Those early Dodges were insanely loud but don't hold a candle to a 2-stroke Detroit.
