Yep, simple as can be.
1) remove axle shafts
2) pull cover
3) Remove 2 prong locks on screw adjusters
4) Mark bearing caps Left and Right
5) Record backlash on gears
6) Back off the screw adjusters and remember how many turns you did it, say 4 turns per adjuster
7) Remove bearing caps
8) Pull carrier out and remove ring gear bolts
9) Seperate carrier halves and remove spider gears and install detroit
10) Bolt halves back together and remove the wing nut and bolt and washers from the detroit
11) Reinstall carrier into diff and install bearing caps
12) Tigthen screw adjusters same amount of turns you loosened them and check backlash
13) If backlash is correct install the 2 prong lock thingies
14) Reinstall cover and axle shafts and fill with gear lube and enjoy your inreased traction and tire wear

I have a question about step 5 and step 12. According to all of the websites I have seen, they say the detroit can be installed with simple hand tools in a couple of hours. But, doesnt checking the backlash require special tools just like a ring and pinion setup? Or will the backlash be back to normal as long as you count the number of times you turned the screw adjusters. Thanks.
