detroit soft locker

this is just an "updated" regular detroit locker. I think it has some springs to preload the diff so it doesn't clang as bad when engaging. As far as I know they don't make these for 14 bolt FF's, which is what I have and love. Almost any other "light" duty (D60 and below) axle a detroit locker is really a detroit softlocker. Don't confuse these with the EZ-Locker or gearless locker, which are totaly different.

A "soft" locker is the same as a regular detroit, but with a slightly revised design to make it smoother and more "civilized". As far as I know, all detroit lockers sold these days are of the "soft" design. As to whether or not one is available for a FF14, I was told by Dave at Randy's Ring and Pinion that the Detroit No-Spin I put in my FF14 was of the soft design.
