Out of my Dad's truck, he went to a full locker. Unknown mileage, but the condition looks good. It worked when we pulled it. Detroit claims these won't wear, so should have plenty of good use left.

It worked great in the snow and mud. It wasn't very good for rock crawlin' though. If it got into a tight situation hard up against a rock, the design of a limited slip wouldn't let both tires fully hook. That's why he went to a full locker.

I don't know that he ever used it on the street with the hubs locked. Obviously there wasnt' anything to tell it was there when they weren't locked.

how convenient, my front axle seal is leaking so i have to remove the axle shaft anyway.

Yep. If you look up gears or this locker, there's only one part for both applications. Both axles are just 10blt's with 8.5" ring gears.

It just so happens that Dad had this one in the front.


EDIT: I was wrong, TrueTrac are front/rear specific; not either/or.

Okay I did some double checking and I was wrong. On 4wheelparts.com they list one that says for "rear application only" and another for "front application only." I wonder why they are different.
