I would need to know if the Detroit Truetrck needs special carrier bearings for it´s installation on a front 10 bolts.
I think that i read this in a summit catalog ,but in the web page they don,t say nothing about.

Thanks

It can be impossible but its not. You really need to have done it several times and you can still mess them up.

It is safest to get new bearings. But if you can be down for a couple days its not a big deal to try to reuse the old ones

It's been about 2 years so bear with me...I know for a fact that the rear does use different bearings when putting a tru-trac into a rear 8.5in 10 bolt, as the tru-trac is actually intended for a 8.6in 10 bolt... And IIRC the front uses the same special bearings/races... Call a good drivetrain parts supplier and they should be able to confirm this... Most good suppliers will just swap the wrong bearings for the correct ones, that way you dont end up buying 2 sets of carrier bearings, when you only need 1 set.
