I let the cord from my angle grinder get caught in my bench grinder.:doah:

I was thinking of just getting a HD extension cord and using that to get more cord length.

Any ideas? or should I just buy some of the regular black appliance cord and use that?

Ive used extension chords at work, ones that had cuts in them and were no longer osha approved. What you want to do though is take the grinder apart, unsolder the wires from the switch, and solder the new ones to it. That way you dont have some big ugly splice in the chord that could pull apart if u snag in on something.

friend had 2 buffers at his body shop with dead cords. i had them fixed in under 30 min and 30 bucks in 1 25ft cord new from hdware store and a replacement male end for second.

even got him from 5ft cord to 12 ft cord on each. he loves it now and thay work awsom. :thumb:

Ill do that then. And this cord wasnt soldered in. There was some screw clamp device.

That's how our grinders and drills are. We seem to have a knack for eating the cords on tools at work. Slap a new cord on and go! :D

Put a 15' cord on, just bought an ext cord and cut one end off. Works good, and I'm sure the added length will be very handy.

I am also very surprised how good it looked inside, this thing hasnt exactly had an easy life. I LOVE my DeWalt tools.
