Did any 88 - 98 1/2 ton 4x4s come with rear disks?

I'm looking to do a rear disk brake swap on my 96 truck to get rid of the uber-sucky drum brakes it has right now, did any of these rigs come factory to grab a prop valve and master cylinder from?

My rear diff is out of a 2000, which is already equipped with the disks, has 4.10 gears and a gov-loc.

I also have the front diff from the same 2000 which is also a bolt in after you replace the passenger side axle tube with the 96's original.

I would try it with the original prop valve. Brakes might be a bit rear biased, but ABS should take care of it.

just out of curiosity, was the rear end from the 2000 a direct bolt on replacement, or did you have to modify some stuff?

I haven't done the swap yet, but everything has measured up to be a direct bolt in deal less the e-brake cable. That shouldn't be too hard to custom build though :)

Does anyone know how the proportioning is done in these trucks? I know my 80 has a seperate proportioning valve down on the front crossmember, but both my 96 and the 2000 run from the master, into the ABS box and from there directly to the different wheels...

Basically, does the ABS do any proportioning, or is it entirely done with the master cylinder?

If it does wind up that the master does all the proportioning, then I am definitely in luck becuase the 2000 master cylinder is a direct bolt on replacement for the 96 :D Neither has any sensors on them, and both have the same size fittings for both lines :)
