Did Dana 60\'s ever come in the 5 lug version?

Did Dana 60's ever come in the 5 lug version say maybe on a Jeep or a Furd? A friend of mine has an old Willys pick up. The rear axle has the # 60 cast in the diff next to the cover just like any other D60 or D44. But his is a 5 lug Furd bolt pattern. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

In a semi floating rear I'd say it's a definite possibility.

Many Ford trucks came with 5 lug D60 rears, as well as one speed transfer cases in late 60's to early 70's . I have to dig it out , but there was one featured in a mag a few years back . /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Yep Chrysler used them, I'd almost forgotten. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

They were used for rears in some of the full size jeep pickups. A friend of mine has one under his classic bronco, not sure if it was really an upgrade from the 9-inch, but hey, I didn't pay for it.

Even GMC was offering a Semi floating Dana 60 rear axle in the 1960-66 1/2 ton pickups. I have not been able to find one actually ordered that way yet but I did see one on ebay once.

Re: Did Dana 60\'s ever come in the 5 lug version?

a few things to add... the GMC version of the sf dana 60 only came in 67-68 as far as I have seen, but it is possible that it came under earlier trucks. Most 60-66 1/2 tons had the Eaton H033. Usually it is seen in '68 2wd models with the 396, but it also came with the 351 V6 in half tons (which was only offered 66-68). And anyway, it would be a six lugger, not five.

The Z28, IIRC, only came with the 12 bolt. Oh, and no BB came with the first gen Z28..only the 302 small block.

Re: Did Dana 60\'s ever come in the 5 lug version?

IH used them in some of the later pickups and Travelalls. They used the 5-5.5" bolt pattern. My dad has one out of a 74 T-all in his 49 Jeep Truck.

You can probably figure out what it was out of by running the BOM numbers that are stamped into the pass. side axle tube.

Re: Did Dana 60\'s ever come in the 5 lug version?

I have a utility trailer made from the back half of a 1962 chevy(or GMC??)truck--it has a full floater 3/4 ton rear end in it, 8 lug,but it has COIL springs--could it be a dana 60?? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif.I think its probably an eaton, but then I never paid much attention to it,even when I built it.If its a dana,I'll cut it out and sell it--trailer is rotted and never gets used anyway!. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
