I bought a 1980 chevy 1 ton pickup for $300. it has a corp.14 bolt rear axle, a corp. 10 bolt front axle w/4:10 gears. Also the driveshafts and a married 465 4/speed tranny and 205 transfer case.No engine was with it. I'm putting it all on my 1979 blazer. And yes it is all in good working condition. Do you think this is a good deal or was it to much? Thanks for the input. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

For $300 you did get a good deal to swap into the k5, but a 1 ton should have had a dana 60 front. Did someone already swapped out the front end?

sounds like a good deal. Even if the D60 has been pulled from the front.

The Dana 60 has 10 front cover bolts. Does your axle have king pins or ball jointed steering knuckles? If there are caps on top of the knuckle with 4 bolts it's a Dana 60, if there's a ball joint it's a 3/4 ton front. Either way, good deal /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

quicker way to tell if you know know what trucknutz means is simply, look under the front of the truck, if you see 3 u bolts and 2 studs holding the front axle, do a little dance.

yeah being an 80 it could still be 3/4 ton or 1 ton either one thanks to having a 205 in it.

i bet ya its actually a K20 lol

but good deal anyways

also all GM setups asre married anyways, no unmarried setups by gm for a super long time way before any 70s or 80s, if at all

good luck

thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to look into the front axle some more because a buddy at work says the cover doesn't look like a dana. He says he's never seen this shape of axle before.
