OK I found this '86 Chevy 1 ton single axle. I know it has the 14 bolt (figured it out all by my lonesome) But I have a few questions about the front axle and the transfer case. Are they good to have? Also can anyone identify the winch on the bumper. Thanks

i cant see the pics but its most likely a d-60, 205 (maybe 208?) 400 if its auto.

D60 it is as well as having what I think is a Warn 8274 hanging on the front Eureka.

How much? If you make an offer don't appear to be jizzing in your pants, unless he allready knows the value of what he's got :D

I would guess it's a 205, I know they did slipyoke 205s bu I thought there were only in the 3/4 and 1tons.

The only reason I'm saying 205 is because my 208 fill and drain look different. They are big hex heads that are really short. Plus that tcase just doesn't seem to look like mine.

I can't see the tcase shift linkage. If it is 2 pistons actuated by a lever with center pivot then it should be a 205. If it is linkage rods attached to levers, then it is probably a 208.

IIRC a 208 shift pattern is 2H-4H-N-4L reading front to rear. I know the 205 is different.

your pics = dana 60 front / 205 slip yoke / warn 8274 style winch. also with further looking the crossmember is newer style. and this will mostlikly have round6 bolt tcase mount setup not the fig 8 setup.

where are you going to put another ubolt? whatever idiot cobbled that thing together didnt leave enough room for a second u bolt on that side. just for safetys sake, i'll trade you a complete set of 4.10 3/4 ton axles, complete with 4 u bolts on each axle. that thing is a death trap, and i'd hate to see someone get hurt when i could do something about it. :haha:

in a word, "yes". Except the slip yoke 205... which is sorta worthless unless you want to take parts from it to complete a Lomax 3:1 205...

northwest fab has a kit to eliminate the slip yoke on the 205 :wink1:

No guessing. It is a D60 front. Look at the kingpin. I never trust the 3 U-bolt/2stud thing because Dodge did it on their D44s and they fit under a Chevy easy enough. The case is an NP205. See the idler cover w/ the 3 bolts holding it on? The winch is an older model 8274. That was easy to tell but you know was not built in the last 7 years because of the round freespool handle & plug in the front. Good find, buy it now if the price is right.

The front is a 60 and I would say an new one which means it has the axles that are not necked" down. The transfercase is a 205 and you can tell that by the plate with the 3 bolts. mine was a slip yoke when I bought it, I converted it to a fixed yoke....................................................
